Whether you're looking to grow your green thumb, dive into a new book, or join a fun community event, we’ve got something for you!

Please note the following closures:
The La Quinta Public Library and Makerspace will be closed Wednesday, February 12 and Monday, February 17, 2025 for Lincoln and Washington’s Birthday.
The La Quinta Public Library will be open for Express Services only Thursday, Feb. 27 - Sunday March 2, 2025 due to the La Quinta Art Celebration. The MakerSpace room will be closed at this time.
How do Express Services at the La Quinta Library Work?

Sign in to your account via www.rivlib.net to place an item on hold. Once you have received notification that your hold is available, call the library at 760-564-4767 to schedule a pick up time.
Please take your library card or ID with you at your scheduled pick up time. Inform the parking attendant you are there for library express services.
Call the library to let us know you have arrived. A Staff member will ask for your name and library card number to check out your items. A Staff member will then bring out your items to your vehicle.
Return any items to the outside book drops or at any of our other Riverside County Library branches.

Neighborhood Forest Partnership: You get a TREE! You get a TREE! You get a TREE!
The La Quinta Public Library is partnering with Neighborhood Forest to giveaway trees saplings to children! Parents/Guardians, click the link to register for a free tree for your child to plant during Earth Week. Registration required by March 15, 2025. Trees will be distributed at the La Quinta Library in April at a later date. For more information, visit the Neighborhood Forest website.
Baby Storytime- Wednesdays, February 5, 19, & 26 @ 10:15 AM | Ages 0 - 18 months
This program focuses on caretaker & baby interactions with activities to promote communication & fine motor skills through song, book, movement & playtime. Sponsored by Friends of the La Quinta Library.
A.B.C. Storytime- Wednesdays, February 5, 19, & 26 @ 11:15 AM | Ages 2-4
Acoustics, Books, & Children storytime promotes early literacy & movement through song, books, rhymes & music. Sponsored by Friends of the La Quinta Library.

Players of all levels welcomed! Hosted by the Coachella Chess Club.
Sensory Hour

Turn over a new leaf—literally! Join the library garden club and grow your green thumb using traditional raised garden beds.

Come and watch our movie of the month with us! Limited seating and floor space. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, all drinks must have lids. Popcorn is for a limited time.
